Introducing Katherine Behrens
Introduction
Hello! My name is Katherine Behrens, but you can call me Kate. I am a psychology and political science double major. I am also a captain of the women's volleyball club here at Trinity! I was born and raised in Denton, Texas, but traveled frequently with my parents to San Antonio when I was younger and knew it would be a perfect fit for me. Just far enough from home but close enough to visit on long weekends. I'm looking forward to graduating in May where I hope to continue my academic studies in foreign relations and national security.

Interests
I have been playing volleyball for at least ten years now. I have played throughout high school on both my school team and in club sports, and have been grateful to continue to play competitively in college club. I also love to travel! I have participated in two study abroad programs though Trinity. The first of which was the International Criminal Justice program with the political science department that took me to Bosnia and Croatia, and the second was Trinity in Italy with the religion and classics department. With my family I have also traveled to France, Amsterdam, and Türkiye to name a few, and to Spain most recently. Italy has probably been my favorite place to travel as it is beautiful in both the big cites and countryside, as well as had some of the best food I have ever eaten. Additionally, I love to read, go country western dancing, and be outdoors!
Expectations
My expectations for this course are to improve and build upon my knowledge and confidence when working with power tools, as well as learning how to use 3D printers and laser cutters. I have done some minor projects with my dad, however I have never had any experience with 3D printers and laser cutters. I am also hopeful to expand and grow in my level of creativity and make new friends!

That's one sturdy looking workbench and sure it's happy to support some game assembly. On top of laser and 3D printers, we'll be learning how to program and run CNC routers. I think you'll like them. They have fewer limitations.
